This is a classic piece of American culture from mid-20th century.
These were often sold through catalogs (like Sears) or hardware stores.
They weren't elite, but they were the "workhorse" reels for the average angler.
It was manufactured by Longfellow Products Inc. out of Fraser, Michigan, U.S.A.,
when fishing gear was built to last several lifetimes.
It cranks easily, anti-reverse works, drag functions properly, bail closes crisply every time,
and the handle knob spins freely.
